We had a simple plan. We’d arrive in Lagarde by lunchtime, when the temperature hovering close to its maximum for the day, something around eleven degrees, then while one of us wandered off to have a cup of tea with Maggie, the other would start with the scrubbing brush and pressure cleaner outside, which would give us a clear run at all the other bits.
Only part of that plan worked out.
We did arrive by lunchtime, and one of us did have a lovely catch up with Maggie. The other was not entirely convinced that the plan had been a terribly good one, so busied himself for the entire afternoon in front of the heater figuring out a new plan.
