Christmas in Australia!

Well it's Christmas in Australia,
Time to remember all the family,
gather round for a photo,
hang on dad, where did Shelley go?
Gotta get everyone in the picture.

I was originally going to post the family pic for the benefit of all. If you've ever been here at Christmas, you'd know what we look like; tee shirts, slightly reddened from the morning at the beach, bare feet under the table and plenty to be thankful for.

Then I saw these balloons on the beach at Mooloolaba this morning and saw so many analogies which were much more appropriate, for once I thought I'd leave it to the eye of the beholder.

I hope you all are having Merry Christmas!

Hi Pete,

Glad you had a genuine Aussie day at the beach. It was so cold here we had to light a log fire by nighttime and not just for the 'olde worlde' nostalgia. It was really cold all day and as a possum has taken up residence in the heating duct, and we haven't quite figured out how to move him on yet, we couldn't take the easy option and flick a switch. Can you imagine the smell of possum being blasted into every nook and cranny of the house!

Yes we ARE having a Merry Christmas Blue Mountains style.

Unfortunately it wasn't as cold as all that here- No heating necessary today. It did rain all christmas day though. It was fun walking through the heath with all of our Christmas Lunch supplies in the rain and wind I tells ya... We lost a cheap umbrella in the process.
